  1. The mind is defined as "the element of a person that enables them to be aware of the world and their experiences, to think, and to feel; the faculty of consciousness and thought: a person's intellect" The definition suggests that the mind belongs to the person and allows the person to be aware of the objective world including the objective person. The person objectively exists, but this isn't who someone is. It is only who one may identify with. No one is born with any sense of self awareness. We are all born into a culture that forces us to develop this abstract construction of the mind which is then identified with the objective person. A persona is defined as "a mask; what is presented to the world". This is clearly not who we are. It must be remembered that as closely related as identification is to identity, identification is not identity. I would also question the assumption that the mind is some elementary aspect of the person rather than an element of who you are. The question then becomes, if you are not the mask you wear and you are not the abstract construction of the mind, then who are you?
