chrysostom Posted August 31 Share Posted August 31 (edited) You may not be old enough to remember the Peter Principle, a best seller, that proposed that everyone is promoted until they are put in a job they cannot handle. Shortly thereafter another best seller suggested that you fire someone if you are put in charge. You are not really in charge until you do. britanica Posted August 31 Share Posted August 31 A friend of mine whose husband got promoted to head of the office actually did this. He said that no one was respecting him. He analyzed everyone's work flow and fired the weakest worker in the office and then people suddenly respected him.
