YellowDragon Posted September 13, 2024 Posted September 13, 2024 There is so much disgust and evil int he world. I think social media is making it more apparent and it is hard to not become angry. I recently felt myself getting very mad and hateful toward people because of it and I don't like to be like that. I don't want to be like the world. I want to focus more on God. How do you stay focused on God when the world is promoting and encouraging so much evil? 2 Quote

Asking the right question is a good start. We can't do much about the world's problems but we might be able to address our own. 3 Quote
That All-seeing Eye Posted September 27, 2024 Posted September 27, 2024 One of the foundations, is gratitude. Part of that involves reframing your eye of perception to one that seeks the good/beauty first. "If thine eye (of perception) offends thee, pluck it out (find a new perception that does not see offence)" 1 Quote

That All-seeing Eye Posted September 28, 2024 Posted September 28, 2024 (edited) Yes, all that has been given to us, which is God itself, and therefore, to be loved. Hence, the importance of seeing all things through a lens crafted in and by interaction with the divine. An eye of perception "in truth", harmonious with the source divine intention. Not the assumption created from knowing the knowledge of others but not one's own. Edited September 28, 2024 by That All-seeing Eye 2 Quote
JRexx Posted September 28, 2024 Posted September 28, 2024 I agree about staying in a place of gratitude. That covers a lot of areas. But also, you want to be in a place of forgiveness always. Forgiving others and forgiving yourself. When you see evil, forgive their ignorance, many do not know any better or any differently. When you mess up and let your hatred/anger get the better of you, forgive yourself and ask God for forgiveness. We are all human and we all make mistakes. 1 Quote

Yes, I think forgiveness can be a greater challenge for some, but for sure, these two meet in the middle. Forgive what you can, give gratitude for what you can, until there is nothing to forgive and every reason to be grateful, always :) 1 Quote

Just knowing it is a gift to be appreciated might be sufficient. Quote
