chrysostom Posted October 21, 2024 Posted October 21, 2024 The two olive trees will lead you to Zechariah where you will find Zerubbabel who is associated with Joshua and together they represented Church and State and they built the second Temple. Church and State working together are the two witnesses: the Byzantine Empire and the Holy Roman Empire. 2 Quote

If you Google "two witnesses" you get two people which completely ignores the significance of the two olive trees and the two lampstands and the Church and State working together. Quote
britanica Posted November 24, 2024 Posted November 24, 2024 I think the separation of church and state was a mistake because it allowed for people to drift further from God and the morals followed. In the US, if you do not have a society built on the foundation of a moral code, it requires more laws and control to keep moralless people in check. A lot of people are not bright enough to live in a place without moral standards without bringing the quality of life of everyone around them down. 1 Quote

The guilt which won't go away forces them to cling to social justice to replace religion which is necessary. 1 Quote

I always refer to religion of self or ideas as a cult. Social justice and the obsession with equality is their attempt to feel better about the things they do and say that they know deep down are wrong. I think it mentally and physically hurts them and because they don't have any ties to God to ask for strength and forgiveness, they have to focus on the aspects of pleasing as many people as possible which is self-defeating. 1 Quote
