JRexx Posted January 7 Posted January 7 Greenland has been fairly vocal about wanting independence from Denmark. Denmark is not having it but the US does have the opportunity to purchase Greenland and grant them their independence. It would likely be made into a territory like Puerto Rico. They have a lot of untapped resources there and making such a huge deal would bring them tons a wealth and growth too. But will it happen? I feel like it seems very unlikely and mostly wishful thinking but Trump Jr. did visit there today to talk to the natives which sparked all sorts of talk about the concept. . 2 Quote

YellowDragon Posted January 9 Posted January 9 Denmark would make tons of money if they allowed it though so I have to wonder if this is just public talk, you know, Orange Man Bad speak just to go along with everyone and everything. If there is money to be made on both sides, it will happen. 1 Quote

Cosmic Posted January 10 Posted January 10 I am worried about the debt... But at this point, I may be one of only a few thousand that are I think this could actually help the economy and even help Denmark. So I am curious to see outlines and plans for it. Quote

JRexx Posted January 11 Author Posted January 11 The PM of Greenland said he is ready to talk to Trump about Greenland's independence form Denmark. This is Greenland wanting things to change and I think it could be a good thing for both zones. So maybe I was completely wrong. Quote
chrysostom Posted Monday at 10:45 AM Posted Monday at 10:45 AM We should be talking to Denmark. 1 Quote

This is like talking to a neighbor who rents their home about changing the yard and allowing you to have more lot space. This is just going to piss off the landlord and cause legal problems. 1 Quote
chrysostom Posted Wednesday at 07:46 AM Posted Wednesday at 07:46 AM I understand that this idea started in the 19th century has been considered many times. 1 Quote
JRexx Posted Wednesday at 06:35 PM Author Posted Wednesday at 06:35 PM A lot of people are getting mad about this right now. Still on the side of it not happening BUT if it does, I can see it being a massive deal for the US in terms of exports and imports. Hopefully this leads to more exports again. When the US was exporting goods is when we saw the most growth. 1 Quote
