Tripas à moda do Porto - Oporto-style tripe

This is the symbol dish of the city of Porto, it has more than 600 years of tradition and some people call the people of Porto “tripeiros”. The story goes that the dish has its origins in the Age of Discovery, when in 1415, the population ceded the meat they had to the fleet of Infante D. Henrique when it left to conquer Ceuta, with only the viscera left to eat. Today's dish, in addition to tripe, also includes sausages, various types of meat and white beans.

I am not sure what the national dish of the US is... I know the stereotypical national dish is burgers and fries lol Maybe hotdogs?

As far as I know, every state has their own "dish" so I don't think there is an official national dish in the US. We have many dishes.

This I can't believe but i heard it was pizza.

Pizza is more of an Italy and Greece thing though, at least in my mind. I am sure there is something other countries consider a national dish here that I probably wouldn't think of so maybe it is pizza.
