JRexx Posted May 11 Posted May 11 If you haven't heard (which I think everyone knows about by now) millions of people around the world have been able to witness the Northern Lights. I saw it in my own skies last night. It was very beautiful. Not as bright as it would be way up north but still enjoyed seeing it. This was caused by the X5.8 class solar flare that happened. I guess we have not seen one this big since the 1850s and it destroyed all sorts of power grid structures and caused a lot of death. I am not sure if we should be worried or not. Here is more info on it: https://www.space.com/sun-fires-off-massive-x-class-solar-flares-may-11-2024 2 Quote
YellowDragon Posted May 13 Posted May 13 What is wild is in Europe it was RED. That seems very strange to me. What exactly causes the northern lights? I never looked into it. Could what people are seeing be radiation? Like from the sun? Quote
