tmcom
For one thing the US certainly has far more crap breakfast cereals to choose from than AU does.
Cosmic
Yeah, the US has a massive cereal problem. I never liked it so I don't eat it. The only cereal I liked in the last 20 years has been one from the UK and it was mostly nuts and seeds. I am glad I am not a fan of these. I do like oatmeal but I don't eat it often. I would rather have eggs or buttered rice for breakfast. I don't know how people eat sweets for breakfast.
JRexx
The trouble isn't sugar so much as it is HFCS and standard corn syrup. Both of which have been proven to grow tumors in mice and rats. Couple this in with depleted soils most of our crops are grown in and you have a very big issue of mineral deficiencies across the board.
